ASEXUALITY

White is depicted as emptiness. When hollow eyes stare back, vacant and heartless and void of emotion. It is being undesirable and boring and distant and cold, like the white holes scattered across the vast neverending universe, white is the eruptions of matter and energy, nothing can get inside them, but those are nothing but misconceptions.

White is seemingly transparent, invisible, unseen. Unrecognisable and blending into expectations to avoid negative attention. It is being told “you’ll like it one day” or “maybe they’re just not the one” or “you’re too young to know”.

White is believed to be blank and unverified that can be - that should be fixed and validated. It is others telling you to try it, to stop being cruel, to be more expressive, to lower expectations, to try taking an interest, to fix yourself.

Asexuality is not a thing to be fixed - it is an orientation with a spectrum of its own.

An asexual can be aromantic, demisexual, grey-sexual and all are valid because such things may not have been a choice. It is a truth that should be embraced by all instead of being criticised for. It is not a thing to be fixed, and they are not broken. But if the world refuses to see them as humans instead of objects that can be easily mended, they will become broken, and the world becomes less human that it should have been.

Asexuals are not emotionless, they have beating hearts capable of love and other emotions.

White is not empty, white is not invalid and white is not broken.

It is the amalgam of all colours imaginable.
